Photographs of Fruit Hill RI, today a neighborhood of N. Providence. In the late 1800s the Olney family sold most of their farmland and the area was platted for development. The photos show scenes and buildings of Fruit Hill that are now lost. The only structure pictured that remains today is the Soldiers Monument. An album of photos in a handmade 9.5×8 inch Album with 64 photos and 9 board pages. The Album was made by 'Clinton', who looks to be a teen in some of the photos. Scenes include the Fruit Hill School House, the resevoir, Haupt's orchid, Haupt's Acadamy and family & friends mugging for the camera. Most of the photos have titles on them or next to them. The cover picture is hand drawn and scratch-etched into the board and the rear cover is made from a mounted 19th century photo of a young girl with her doll. A nice piece of Providence history and photographic art.
