Vintage Photo Album of the German American Fred Stolzenburg Family of Reno Nevada. They were relatives of the poet WILHELM STOLZENBURG. There are 73 photos. Fred was an older father to two children, a daughter was from a previous marriage of the wife's as one photo reads "Vivian with her new daddy", and a son together "Danny Boy" Donald Stolzenburg. Album shows the life of a boy growing up in Nevada in the 1940's. One sad page shows the mother after her husband died and she writes "As a widow, you must be busy or be sorry". Photos include Verdi, Nevada, Beverly Hills, and Los Angeles. First page has a quote about rose buds by Nietzsche. This was an educated family and many of the photos have heartfelt comments. "I am not happy, I am content. I live alone, but I have nearly everything I need."
