McCook published his, American Spiders and Their Spinningwork: A Natural History of the Orbweaving Spiders of the United States with Special Regard to Their Industry and Habits. This three volume production was produced under the auspices of the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia (where McCook was vice-president).
